Price adjustments
Price adjustments use the discount framework, but they are also considered as part of the base price functionality, along with the prices that are configured on the released product and trade agreements. When pricing changes over time for a product, you can use price adjustments to maintain the integrity of the original trade agreements functionality.
Price adjustments use price groups, so they should be used for scenarios where trade agreements can’t be used to define the price, for example, location.
Price adjustments are set up in Retail and Commerce > Pricing and discounts > Price adjustments.
Unlike trade agreements, price adjustments allow for more complex configurations by using the framework that the discount engine has, such as the advanced discount periods functionality. Trade agreements can be defined by date, whereas the discounts periods for price adjustments allow for pricing changes by many more criteria, as shown in the following example of the Discount periods page, located in Retail and Commerce > Pricing and discounts.
