Deploy the Commerce Cloud Scale Unit (CSU)

The prerequisites and initial steps that are involved in deploying the Commerce Cloud Scale Unit (CSU) also apply to the deployment of a channel that could be an in-store, brick-and-mortar channel. You don’t have to deploy e-Commerce to use the in-store component, but you do have to deploy a CSU. After you have deployed the CSU, you can deploy either or both e-Commerce and brick-and-mortar channels.

After a customer has a deployment started in Dynamics Lifecycle Services, they will get an implementation product created for them in the background. If they have the right license and implementation project created, the customer can configure different types of environments for Production, sandbox UAT, Development, and others.

For example, you have a sandbox UAT environment configured and you want to provision a Commerce Scale Unit in that environment. To accomplish this task, go to the Environment details page, select Manage, and then go to the Retail Deployment Center page and select Initialize.

After you select Initialize, select the region that you want to initialize the Commerce Scale Unit for, and then select the version of Commerce Scale Unit to deploy.

When you have deployed the Commerce Scale Unit, you can continue configuring the channels that consume the services.
